Proverbs 18:23-24 (New American Standard Bible)
23The poor man utters supplications,
But the rich man answers roughly.
24A man of too many friends comes to ruin,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 17: 17 A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.
John 15:14, 15 "You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
A personal relationship with Christ is the only true cure for the aching of a man’s (woman’s) heart. Being a survivor of my brother’s suicide, my encouragement to our members and families associated with the LOA-FLA is to pray hard for the survivors, especially the young ones; it is extremely hard for them to understand and for the adults to give guidance. In these difficult times in our world, we as Christians need to be vigilant in our relationships to see if others are in need of services or a listening ear. My prayers are with the family.

Sheriff Borders:

It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I hope that our organization can be of assistance to you, in especially when the Latino community needs your help most of all. First, I would like to give you some background about our organization and what we represent and how we can be of assistance to each other in building a bridge to foster better relations with the Latino community. I know this message comes to you with such short notice, however, I know with our assistance, you, your agency, and staff will turn a negative image into a positive one, not only for the Latino Community, but for the Lake County community as well. You can research our organization with the web address that I have included at the conclusion of this message.

About Us: The Latino Officers Association Florida (LOA-FLA) is an acknowledged fraternal and advocacy organization. The mission of the Latino Officers Association Florida is to create a coordinated network of support without limitations or boundaries. The LOA-FLA strives to create chapters in the wide array of law enforcement agencies and companies. The LOA-FLA strives to create affiliations with other organizations that provide representation and services equivalent to those offered by the LOA-FLA.

The mission of all LOA-FLA chapters is to promote tolerance toward and understanding of the Latino culture in all public and private agencies, especially in the law enforcement communities. The mission of the individual chapters is to create strong bonds between the Latino community and other law enforcement agencies. As an organization our goal is to ensure equal representation in hiring and promotional practices. We also strive to ensure that members work in an environment that is in compliance with all equal employment opportunity rules and regulations; an environment free of discrimination, hostility, retaliation, and sexual harassment.

The LOA-FLA represents members, both uniform and civilian, that are employed by law enforcement agencies on the city, state, and federal level. The LOA-FLA also represents non-law enforcement personal employed in both the private and public sectors.

In God We Trust .....

In God We Trust
Message for May 16, 2009
Matthew 24:36: 39 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be”.
Giving us understanding… When you ask for understanding, God likes that, as with Solomon.
We will look at how David asks also for such understanding. But what happens when man refuses to ask for understanding or says I have my own understanding! Let’s take a look at what happens to them. You will love your God with all your heart and soul in understanding.
Mathew 13: 11: “He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:

” Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
And seeing you will see and not perceive;
For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
Their ears are hard of hearing,
And their eyes they have closed,
Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them”.
But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
How many people just can’t see, hear the truth of God or understand the mystery of the kingdom of our Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:14 “But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”.

How many people just don’t see Jesus as Lord, and close their heart. Recently Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti had a prayer gathering and he was attack by the atheist movement that did not agree with the prayer. The error was that the Sheriff said we should all prayer to God regardless of our religion. You see God is not religion. Religion is man searching for God. Having all of different faith pray to their version of God is a sin to God because the bible says I am a jealous God:
Exodus 20:5
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Some people just can’t see the truth: the enemy wants you not to see the truth and be blind. Lets look at the Word
Isaiah 56:10
“ His watchmen are blind,
They are all ignorant;
They are all dumb dogs,
They cannot bark;
Sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
Yes, they are greedy dogs
Which never have enough.
And they are shepherds
Who cannot understand;
They all look to their own way,
Every one for his own gain,
From his own territory.
“ Come,” one says, “I will bring wine,
And we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink;
Tomorrow will be as today,
And much more abundant.”
Jesus spoke
Luke 24:13:
Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles[d] from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened. 15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.
17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”[e]
18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?”
19 And He said to them, “What things?”
So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.”
Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.
30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.
32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.
Understanding: The mysteries of God kingdom…..

Psalm 119: 34
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Today in the grace
Psalm 119:125
I am Your servant;
Give me understanding,
That I may know Your testimonies:
The testimonies of God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Psalm 119:144
The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting;
Give me understanding, and I shall live….
What are the testimonies of God….?
What God has done for you….!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Lord is good….
Luke 24: 44:45
Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise[h] from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem[i] until you are endued with power from on high.”
When God opens your understanding, you repent and serve…….In Jesus name…. Name above every name

Roman 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Peter 3:1
Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us,[a] the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[b] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[c] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

In closing
1:John 5:20
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself,[e] and the wicked one does not touch him.
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Amen.
